Alden Stripe Cotton Button-Up Shirt & Drawstring Shorts Set

I wanted to love this because who doesn’t love pink and red together, a matching set, and something seemingly easy breezy for summer. But this was just odd for me in several ways. First, it’s faux drawstring shorts. I would have preferred an actual drawstring so I could have it as loose or tight as I want. I got a size S. I’m 5’8”, 135lbs, tall and straight but with a wide waist so the elastic band was kinda tight on me. But the rest of the shorts were really large. The shirt was large too and normally I love a good oversized fit but this looked awkward on me. It almost a-lined out so viewing from the side it bowed out in the front and back. Also, the knit, 100% cotton fabric, I thought would be a nice touch for hot weather months but this was just a thick, heavy cotton that felt like I’d roast in it in the heat of summer. I would maybe consider keeping this if I paid $25 or less. Maybe not. Not worth the price at all IMO. A shame bc the idea is really nice and the colors are perfection.
