Died after 10 days
To use the automated i.d. features, you need to download the Dyson app. Began glitching on the second day of use. I have short hair. Was using on medium heat and medium fan. All 6 lights (heat and air) would flash at once and machine would just stop working mid-styling. Happened several times. I googled it and found several users on tiktok with same problem "New Dyson Glitching" One day, it just stopped. I went through multiple trouble shooting sessions with Dyson support. Turns out they know about the problem and thought their most recent update to the app would solve it. Apparently not. I think I'll wait to buy another until the technology is figured out. Before it died, curling barrels had more air power, rubber bristled round brush is much better than the AirWrap complete brush. Smoothing attachment, which I thought was like the AirStrait, is really not at all effective. Supposed to be used on dry hair only to smooth frizzies but doesn't even do that. If you buy it, be sure to buy it from a trusted retailer. If I do repurchase this item again, I will only buy it from Nordstrom. I like their return policy and they won't limit me to 30 days.

Purchased 2 and both malfunctioned
Initial purchase malfunctioned during first use (machine would shut off after 5 min if I changed the attachment mid-use). Assuming it was a one-off faulty device, I returned the item and purchased a second. The exact same issue occurred after 15 minutes of use. The device would shut off and not turn back on for at least 5 min. I was so hopeful this device would exceed my expectations, but I’m so disappointed. I’ve had the original for close to 5 years (and have loved it!) and was willing to pay the high price point if it proved to be an upgrade. I’ve since read on many message boards that this seems to be a common issue with the new model.

not worth it.
I just got the new airwrap and so disappointed the curls didn’t stay for 5 min and my hair looks frizzy. I’m a hair stylist and this one is the worse. I have the blow dryer and works just fine but not the new Airwrap for sure . I’m going to return it. Not recommended.

Updated Dyson Hairdryer
I had an older Dyson hairdryer which I used until it died. This new hairdryer dries my hair quickly and the smoothing attachment works great. Although it takes some getting used to since it automatically shuts off when there is no hair in it. The 2 negatives for me are the release button goes side to side instead of up and down. My arthritic fingers like the up and down. The other is the weight of the power box on the electrical cord. It is VERY heavy. It would weigh down a carry on suitcase. Today, while I was drying my hair, it slipped off the vanity onto the floor and the plug came out of the wall outlet. Overall, I’m happy with it.

Disappointed
I can not keep the curls and volume hold longer than an hour. I do not like to spend hours doing my hair and using multiple products to keep my hair curled. I was told through marketing and perception of dyson that it is easy to use and hold volume and curls with minimal or no hair products. With using multiple curl or volume holding products any curler in a cheaper price would have worked
