Thoughtfully Constructed
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for.
Very thoughtfully constructed with both traveling and everyday use. Big side pocket for water bottles, perfectly placed zipper compartments - like for passports, wallets that is easily accessible. The strap on the back to slip over the handle of luggage is a plus.

Hole in backpack after first trip
I have purchased many Thule products over the years and have always been very satisfied with their quality and durability… until this backpack. The first time using it (last week) as a carry on on my round trip flights, it has a small hole near the top of the bag. Very disappointed in the quality/durability after such mild, routine use.

Ready for Adventure
This is the bag I was looking for. I use it for travel, commuting, and for lugging my teacher materials from class to class. One student recently told me, "Sir, with that backpack you always look like you're ready for an adventure." And she isn't wrong. This bag is functional and elegantly designed. Durable. The colour's pretty, too.

Not for short people
Sadly, the pack was not adjustable to my petite frame - 5'3", short torso, slim. I'd chosen it because I could add a waist belt in the form of the fanny pack AND there is a luggage sleeve. However, the "sling" fanny pack is challenging to take in and out of its sleeve - so you'd end up just keeping it there permanently which is wasteful for such an expensive add-on. I was hoping you could slide it around and use it while wearing or at least pull it off to wear while on the plane. It also adds a ton of bulk and weight to an already bulky awkward pack. Also, using the waist belt lifted the pack about 5" above my shoulders with the shoulder straps pulled as tight as possible. I realize someone my size should be seeking out womens or even teen backpacks, but there are no other options with both a waist belt and a luggage sleeve. I wouldn't purchase this if you're <5'8" or have narrow shoulders or a short torso. If you're not, it's a good quality backpack. The back isn't ridged and uncomfortable like other internal frame bags. The straps are wide and flexible.

Excellent use of space / compartments
I carry a backpack 6 days a week due to my commute. Typically go through a bag every 3 years. This is my first Thule Backpack and I love it. It will also double as a great carryon bag.

Perfect for airline travel!
I love this backpack for airline travel. It is the perfect size and has all the right features for having at your seat. The exterior is free of straps and pouches that catch on things, yet its handles and zippered sections allow easy access to items during flight. The interior is extremely versatile. Having the waterproof pocket divider up creates distinct interior sections helpful for keeping items organized. Rolling down and tucking away the divider creates a large open space that allows the backpack to function like a small suitcase, especially if the expansion zipper is open. The zippers are the smoothest, strongest zippers I have ever experienced! Each pair of zipper pulls has a slightly different shape, which, with a little attention and practice, can allow you to identify which section you are opening even if you can’t see it (i.e., when you’re reaching under the seat in a dark airplane). Overall, the backpack has sturdy construction that seems like it will hold up well over time, and also has pleasing textures (and, again, those amazingly smooth zippers!).
I have only two caveats. First, I wouldn’t recommend this as a long-wearing daypack for hiking or sightseeing, if that's your primary activity. It’s comfortable enough for lugging through the airport but not especially comfortable or load-distributing. I am eager to strap it to my roll-aboard suitcase as soon as possible, and it has a convenient strap for doing just that. Second—and this is important!!— the chest straps come off too easily. Each of the chest straps was lost forever under an airplane seat! Thule honored their guarantee and sent me a whole new backpack because they couldn’t replace just the missing chest straps. I will be hand-sewing the chest straps into place to avoid losing them again.
