Agility Peak 5 Gore-Tex^® Waterproof Running Shoe (Women)

I have several Merrill’s, the agility peak has been my go to for the last few years. I live in Moab ( yes that Moab), and run and hike in rough terrain. I need a big toe box, aggressive tread and have both the GTX and regular style. I buy a half size up to a 9.5 but decided to go up another half size to accommodate my thicker socks. Big mistake, although I have a good fit, my heel constantly slips which can be quite uncomfortable, allowing small rocks in my shoe. I do put another insert in because I need the extra padding. I don’t know quite what to do about the heel slippage. Otherwise I really like this style. I’m not crazy about the color, I usually wait for the sales and i ended up with black this time but color doesn’t make the shoe. Merrill I’m still open to being a shoe tester 😉

These are nice and I tried to make them work. They are very light weight and oh, so comfy! I had to return them because the BOA style wasn’t wide enough. The BOA opening was too tight for the widest part of my foot. So I bought a non waterproof pair with the laces. They are way roomier and more comfortable for my feet. Too bad, because I wanted the gore tex and BOA system. Worked out, though. Merrell is wonderful with returns.
