What it is: A refreshing toner with a citrus base to thoroughly cleanse the skin of sweat and grime.
Who it's for: Most skin types, particularly oily, combination or blemish-prone.
What it does: It leaves skin balanced, refreshed and prepared for hydration.
How to use: After cleansing, splash half a teaspoon of Bitter Orange Astringent Toner onto a cotton pad or directly into your hands, and pat onto your face and neck. Follow by hydrating with your preferred Aesop hydrator.

Hard pass! the scent is way too strong, no brighting efeect nor smoothing. I like the other toners from Aesop. this one was way too sticky and uncomfotable on the skin.

Great product but prohibitive price point.
Right up front, I do really like this toner, it's scent and astringency are great, it really cuts through the oil and dirt on my face and left it feeling clean and dry but not tight. I wouldn't recommend this for people with dry or sensitive skin as it would most likely be too irritating and/or drying as the formula contains alcohol as well as several extracts that can be irritants to some (lavender, rosemary, eucalyptus) , this however was no problem for my skin. My three stars are for price vs. value. I have trouble visualizing ounces sometimes so I just assumed for $55 this bottle would be HUGE, but the 6.8oz bottle is a modest size. For the price I can't imagine buying this again just because alcohol-based toners with fresh/citrusy extracts are easy enough to come by at lower price points, but if it's in your budget go for it. Beyond function and onto form, a plus though is the packaging, Aesop products just look great and the glass, amber apothecary bottles look and feel expensive.

Truly a Matte finish
I've just used this once so far and I'm already in love with it. I have oily, sensitive skin and this product is perfectly refreshing after hopping out of the shower. After applying I use a clay-based moisturizer and I get that matte finished look I've been striving for.
I live in Toronto, only a humid climate in the summer but this product is really ideal for anyone with oily skin.

Best toner!
Best toner for oily and acne-prone skin. I'm sensitive and mostly oily, so I don't consider myself combo because it's rare my skin gets extra dry. This toner makes my skin feel fresh and helps after a small breakout because of the witch hazel. Great everyday toner! It does have a burning sensation, so if you don't like that get their other toner this one is mostly for oily skin.
