Layered Chiffon & Lace Gown

Loved this dress! I bought it for a cousin's evening wedding, and it was by far the most polished outfit in the room. It made me feel like the Duchess of Cambridge. The chiffon swirls romantically as you walk, and the guipure lace bodice has a lower lining so the shoulders and chest are visible through the lace. The fit was a bit large, I usually wear a 6, but the 4 was still a trifle loose. I am 5'10'' and it was just hitting the floor in my stocking feet. I cannot wait to wear it again.

I bought this for my daughter's wedding and it was very pretty and I loved the flowing layers. I liked the sleeves since sleeveless is not my strong point, so this was just enough. Even buying the petite and wearing heels it was still long, especially for dancing. I had ordered it on line so don't know what Nordstrom would have charged for hemming it, but my local seamstress that I use frequently wanted $200 becasue of the layers and how it met the side seam and would not guarantee I would be happy with it. So I wore it as is and fussed with it on the dance floor. If you are really tall it should be OK, and if you are average I would order the petite if they have it. It looks really pretty when you walk or make an entrance.

I ordered this dress in charcoal and wore it with a faux fur caplet (Item# 937995) to my daughters wedding. Easy to move in, not to tight and very forgiving to hide some imperfections in our body. I loved this dress and I am thinking about having it shortened for a more versatile use... I did try three different sizes and settled on one true to size and had it altered by Nordstrom to fit. I had a hard time finding shoes I could stand in and be comfortable for 5+ hours especially since I have a narrow foot. But I ended up with some really nice 3 inch Naturalizer heels that were silver. This dress is beautiful and slimming. I am a size six (5'6" and 132lbs) and I ordered a size four, orderig one size down as advised. It fits perfectly. Great mauve-y color and classic design. I purchased several dresses for my son's wedding and decided on this one. It is soft and beautiful. I am 5'6" and about 140 lbs. Ordered the size 10 and the fit was PERFECT - except for the length. I took it back to the store for tailoring (length) and it was going to cost $125.00 to hem. My tailor quoted $150.00 to hem. It does have the layers at the bottom so it is a more difficult job. Although I loved the dress, I decided to purchase another one due to the price of the alteration. Wanted to pass this on the future customers!
