Lace Inset Crepe Sheath Dress

This is a dress that can be worn for many occasions - dinner, wedding, etc. It is classy yet sexy. Even at my age, the dress doesn't look too young. The waist band makes your body take on an hourglass shape. The material has substance and allows the dress to hang well. I wear a size 12 and it fit perfectly. The dress met the middle of my knee. Perfect with a 2.5" heel shoe. I am 5'4".

This dress if beautifully made, with attractive use of black sides for a slimming and interesting, modern look. Fabric is nicely thick and high quality. I am 138 lbs, 5'7" with small bust (34A) and slightly wider hips. Size 6 dress (my usual size) was too large in bust and a bit snug in hips (pulled into a crease at the hips when standing). The neckline was a little too high for my taste as well. I returned it. If this dress had been less expensive I might have kept it and altered it but I didn't like it quite enough to go through all of that. Still, for someone with a fuller top and slimmer hips who wants a sexy fit but "conservative" cut (high neck, not too short) it would be a nice dress. Could see wearing it for work, out on the town in high heels, or more casual with dark tights and boots.

This dress is absolutely beautiful. I purchased the dress originally for a wedding in October, but I also decided to wear it to work with a blazer and received many compliments. The material is very high quality. It's actually rather thick, which will allow you to transition the dress into the fall and winter months. Almost all of my pants and dresses are size 6, so I purchased a size 6 and it fits wonderfully. I'm about 5'5" and the dress hits right at my knees. The band hits my natural waist so it keeps my hourglass shape and doesn't look boxy. I definitely recommend purchasing this dress if your size is still available.

I am a very basic dresser who prefers to accesorize a classic sheath with jewerly, shoes and jackets so this wasn't super appealing to me online. But once I'd tried it on, I was so happy I'd bought it. I have broad shoulders, a slim build and I'm on the taller side but I can see how this would work for nearly anyone (with hemming) because of the stretch in the fabric, the way it accentuates curves and the great construction. It's a lovely fabric with a beige underlayer that makes it seem less like a soon-to-be dated lace dress and more like a modern, chic, timeless piece. I am going to try a smaller size because the fabric does give but either way this is a great keeper.
