Embellished Blouson Gown

I purchased this dress in Cassis and it is lovely! For reference, I'm 5'3", 106 lbs., and a 32B. I normally wear a size 2 in contemporary brands and the size 2 fit me very well. The only problem was that it was way too long. I took it to a seamstress and she told me that because of the bead work, hemming the dress could cost $100 or more. I was not prepared to pay that much for hemming so I returned the dress. I wish it came it petite sizes!

This dress in my size (8) was at my local Nordstrom as an online return. I do not need a formal dress but decided to try it on anyway. It is beautiful! It flattered my figure, which is sometimes difficult in dresses because I am small on top but curvy on the bottom, and made me feel so elegant. It definitely has a vintage glam feel to it. If you have an occasion to wear this dress I highly recommend it!

This gown is lovely. It is not heavy as some beaded gowns are, fits nicely, is comfortable, and sparkles in the light. I tried on a regular size and petite size and opted for the petite because of the length. I'm 5 ft 4 1/2 inches and the petite fit best (was wearing mid high heels and the dress hit just above the top of my toes). I weigh around 145 pounds and my clothes size is typically a 10 top and 12 bottom, but the 10 fit just fine (but I can't gain any weight to fit in it again). I wore a lace, sequined shrug (bought separately) because it was a chilly evening.

I would NOT recommend this dress. I absolutely loved the way this dress fit but found that every dress I looked at in the store was missing beads or had small rips. I thought it was due to people trying on the dress, so I ordered one from the manufacture. I was so disappointed to find that the dress is just poor quality. The dress I ordered was intact but as soon as I lightly ran my finger down the back to unzip the dress - the beads started to fall off. I am so disappointed!!! I absolutely loved the way the dress fits but its just bad quality especially for the price. I would bring it to a tailor to get the beads reinforced if the dress was cheaper - not worth it for the price of the dress. I returned it!! I would NOT recommend!

I didn't pick this dress, but I'm glad my friend did! She chose the pink/taupe color, which admittedly isn't great on my skin tone (I am a little darker/olive toned) but the dress fits really nicely. I am 5 ft, ~105lbs and the 2P fits me perfectly - with a pair of heels I won't even need to get it hemmed! I will be taking the straps up just a hair so it sits a bit better, but other than that no alterations are needed. The dress is very comfortable - a little heavy due to the beading, but that was to be expected. I'm a little worried about how the beading will hold up when it comes to the wedding night and dancing, but I think as long as I am careful it should be fine. The price is a little on the higher end for bridesmaids dresses, but it can definitely be worn again to other events.
