AX3 Mid Gore-Tex^® Waterproof Hiking Shoe (Men)

These shoes required no break in. Immediately put these on for a 1 week long road trip through Oregon. Hiked over 100miles of various terrain. Between water crossings, thick shrub, dirt, mud, and sand these left me comfortable throughout the entire trip. They look great for the casual walk around the neighborhood shoe to the reliability of an avid hikers adventure. STRONGLY RECOMMEND.

I suddenly found myself in the wet & wintery Pacific Northwest with only hot weather/desert boots. These were the answer. I have worn these nearly every day for well over 18 months, on my feet at work, recreating on weekends & hunting. Only now is wear starting to show in the upper - the sole has worn progressively but is still pretty good. I can’t speak highly enough of the comfort these boots have provided & can absolutely confirm the integrity of the goretex waterproofing. It’s routinely wet here in the PNW. As long as I haven’t exceeded the height of the tongue gusset I have never had water penetrate the boots, & I have pushed them to the limits picking my way across creeks & around marshes while hunting. I’ve also used these in the snow & while they did really well I would invest in taller, insulated boots if I were to do it regularly as my feet did get cold after a while. Full disclosure; I never wore gaiters so they did get a bit wet which didn’t help. These are no mountaineering boots, but have been a great value, everyday option that I have probably used far in excess of its design parameters. Without babying them you could expect 12-24 months of service from daily use. I’ve been really impressed by them & would do it all again without thinking.
