Contrast topstitching details the indigo wash of slim fit jeans cut from raw Japanese selvedge denim that's stiff at first, but softens with time and wear. solid raw denim

Been researching for so long until I finally decided to try on a raw denim for the first time. The famous size down 2 advice definitely worked out well for me. I wear 30 in j crew chinos and 28 in PNS fit pretty good. At first, it was hard to even move but after about 2 weeks of daily wear, it has gotten at least 3 times softer. Thanks to nordstrom, I was able to hem my jeans for free. It is known fact for raw denim to shrink after its first wash and hemming prior to wash is usually not recommended. However, I personally do not prefer the "stacking" at the bottom. Go for no break in your jeans for the clean look. Bottom line: 2 sizes down from your normal waist size hem for "no break" clean look wear daily do not wash until the desired fade is obtained (the stiffness comes from starch applied on the jean from the factory. Stiffness is what creates the creases (honeycomb, whiskers) as it is able to fold. If you wash the jeans too early, you risk losing the starch, hence, the stiffness and your desired fade may be delayed). Thanks for reading. ^_^

High-Quality & Great-Fitting

Really high-quality jeans, that come in a great color and fit. Glad to see APC roll out the Petite New Standard fit. I am 5'10", ~175lbs, athletic build, and typically wear 32 or 33. I ordered a size 30 in these and I might have been able to get away with 29. I like to wear my jeans rolled but will still need to get about 1.5-2" hemmed. Overall these jeans are great and I'll probably never get another pair of jeans that aren't raw selvedge.

Sizing

Although i rated it true to size. APC stretch 1-2 ichs after wear. Best to purchase i or 2 size down.

Great entry selvedge denim

I owned the Petit Standards and wore them for about 1.5 years. They were great, but stretched out way too much in the waist and knees. I sold them and tried the Petit NEW Standards. They have a much skinnier fit, especially since there is pretty extreme tapering from the knee down. I'm a 33 waist and I sized down to a 30 to account for the stretching. I was hoping the higher rise compared to the Petit Standards would be significant. But it was not. The rise is still too low for my liking, so I won't be keeping these. If you don't mind a low rise and are looking for selvedge/raw denim, def pick these up. And don't wash for at least 6 months after heavy wear!

Great Selvedge Jeans

These are really cool jeans and worth the money. Much better rise than the basic petit standard - so they fit better. All of these reviews are saying you should order a size smaller than normal. But not everybody is a selvedge jean aficionado and won't be hand-washing these jeans in a tub of cold water with black Woolite, and hanging to dry in ocean air. Some of you might want to just wash the jeans like you would a "normal" pair of jeans -- which means you'll wash them cold and throw them into a warm dryer. If you think these jeans will end up in a warm dryer at any time, order one size bigger than normal. They will shrink a full size if they go in the dryer. Additionally, do not hem the jeans until they get to their final length after shrinkage.

APC Petit New Standard raw

These jeans are fantastic quality, ridged denim that stretches and molds itself to you body through extended use. They'll be snug and slightly uncomfortable but after extended wear they'll fade nicely and easily become your favorite pair of jeans. They would be five stars other then the fact that you have to break them in!
