A-Line Organic Linen Midi Skirt

I love the skirt, I bought two, and not on sale. 2x was sold out, 1x fit well, but I wanted more fabric/swing, so I bought 3x and took the waist in myself. It was challenging, because the fabric was sown on directly to the stretched band, which creates a beautiful gathered effect. All is well, the fabric is fantastic, the skirt is perfect, but in the process of my alteration I discovered something that I could never expect from Eileen Fisher product: hidden in the seam was crudely cut unfinished fabric edge, everywhere; it was particularly grotesque with the tucked in upper fabric edge of the pocket - fabric cut unevenly, in some places as close to the seam as 1mm - that is where it is going to disintegrate should I keep my hands in the pockets or put the keys and the phone when I go for a walk. I think, EF team needs to look into that particular manufacturer's practices - the design is not up to par, hidden craftsmanship is shameful and lowers the quality of the garment.

Last year's beautiful a-line fine jersey maxi skirt was so flattering and practical, I bought it in both colors, black and ocean, plus a spare black one. I also wanted a light colored skirt, and when the a-line didn't reappear this year in white, or any other color, I thought I'd try the white organic linen pocket skirt. One of the reasons I buy EF clothing is I really want to support companies with sustainable practices. But I actually also want to look good in clothing, and I end up sending 50% of my purchases of EF clothing back. Though I liked the length of the linen skirt, it was almost comically puffy in the big gathers at the top, and it's also thin enough to see both daylight and underwear through it. I'd really like my purchases to work out, but I don't see this happening when so many EF designs are boxy and huge, not to mention transparent.
