It holds amazing but it is so thick and it takes a lot to smooth in so that you can't see the whiteness in your hair. I didn't notice any flaking or peeling and it washed out fairly easily. However, the smell reminds me of the old school famous N brand face cleansing cream. It smells like a menthol smell and I wasn't a fan of that.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This clay works well for my husband’s curly, unmanageable hair. Check out the before and after photos below! The finish is matte but it brings out the natural shine of the hair by taming frizziness! We love that it has DHT blocker for the scalp, so it is helpful for reducing the look of bald/sparse spots over time. You only need to use a pea-sized amount for a good result. It has a firm hold, without being hard or crunchy. I would definitely recommend this for men’s hair styling, especially if you have concerns about hair loss!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Highly recommend this product. I used this product in my boys hair who are 8 and 5 and this product was perfect for them. The hold lasted all day and the scent was really nice, but not over powering. They have hair that is straight as a board and one has thick hair and the other has more thinner hair. The paste worked well with both types of hair. I tried to use it on my hair, but my hair is tight curls that gets really frizzy with no product in it. This product made my hair feel dry, but the hold was good. I wouldn’t recommend it for curly hair, but I would try another product from this company that is specifically made for curly hair.

The product does a good job of providing hold that isn’t too difficult to apply and provides the matte non greasy look. However the portion size is small for the price and the smell is a bit herbal which some people may not love.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m pretty picky about my pomade, I usually use D:Fi but this Ruffians Matt Clay is great. I applied a fingerfull to my palms and raked it through soaking wet hair thoroughly. I have an undercut which is a difficult hair style to keep maintained and the Ruffians Clay kept it styled all day. It has a matte finish which I like. It’s not greasy at all.
