Updated Classic
This is the third pair of Birkenstocks I've owned. I decided to try out the Arizona "soft" version, which has an extra cushion layer - definitely worth it. They take a bit to break in, but once they do they're great for all day wear. The iron grey color is very versatile and looks great with jeans, khakis, and even black.

bad service and quality checks
Purchased my first pair of Birkenstock from Nordstrom and I regret it. I ordered these online and finally upon delivery I was deeply disappointed when I saw the pair of sandals seemed used and were damaged. There was actually a sticker that clarified it was on display. Instead of finding brand new sandals that I purchased at full price, I got used with noticeable and deep scratches on the sandals. I’m surprised Nordstrom employees that package this for delivery didn’t catch this and let customers do the work of filing a complaint. In the app you can’t even select an option to exchange it. You have to call customer service, and the rep was not sympathetic at all to my issue. Nordstrom quality and service has really gone down. I don’t blame the manufacturer because I heard great things, I do not appreciate Nordstrom making this shopping experience quite stressful and now I need to go through the hassle of returning and reordering the product, hoping it doesn’t come damaged again. Probably will just go through Birkenstock directly instead of through Nordstrom

Quality so so, comfy yes
Ordered a pair in my size (8), 41 (8-8.5) and they ran on the larger side (8.5-9), but had to exchange them because the metal fastening from the buckle was cutting the top of my foot. Love Nordstrom for their return/exchange policy.
Second pair, exact same, are smaller closer to an 8 and the width is more narrow, even though it’s a regular width. I’ve adjusted to my comfort and now it’s peeling away from the side. Three stars for comfort, but sizing and quality is very inconsistent.

Birks? What's Not To Love.
I practically live in my Birkenstock's during the summer months. Have been doing this for years and one thing I can tell you. Don't bother to have resoled (please! Only by an authorized Birk resole specialist-if you must). So you save $40-$60 and get another year-year and-a-half of use but its always such a gift to slip on a brand new pair and wear em in slowly. In the Arizona heat, where I spend much of my summers-the soles will last about a year and half-and yes, you can get another year or so if you resole-but the savings aren't worth buying a brand new pair. I've learned to donate mine to a worthy cause and look forward to a new pair. Sizing can be tricky. You don't want em too floppy but also don't want the toes hanging on the edge. Best to try em on before determining size-then your good to go for years to come (they never change). Another not-the "softs" are noticeably more comfy than standard so I recommend.

Husband Loves Them!
I ordered these as a surprise for my hubby. They have a “distressed, worn” look to them which I didn’t realize. I was afraid he wouldn’t like them and would prefer a solid brown, but he LOVES the look. They do run large. He usually wears an 11 in shoes, but I ordered the 10-10.5 and it’s a perfect fit.

Got these for a gift for my husband I’m always writing the reviews I must say he loves them very comfy I must add to size down they do run large had to return regular size 9 I ordered of Nordstrom he said they are very comfy and I love them on his feet
