What it does: Philip Kingsley's color-safe, gentle formula helps to create the optimal environment for a healthy scalp without stripping or drying hair.
How to use: Use the shampoo daily until scalp is clear, and thereafter at regular intervals as required. Apply to wet hair and lather, gently kneading the scalp for 60 seconds. Rinse well and repeat if necessary.

The whole line...not for me
I have been suffering from itchy, tight, flaky scalp for months, and been trying OTC drugstore shampoos and also beauty brands that allegedly will help. (None have helped much.) Given all the good reviews for this line, I splurged and bought the pre-wash mask, the shampoo and conditioner, and the toner. After two uses my head was on fire, it was so itchy and tight. I spent a whole day at home scratching and brushing because instead of being annoying, it had escalated to actively painful. Went back to my coal tar shampoo the next day and found some moderate relief, at least back to where it was before using Philip Kingsley. Will not re-buy and definitely would not recommend.
