Penny Ruched One-Shoulder Satin Gown

I am not familiar with the line A.L.C but found the design to be unique and dramatic as it drapes over one shoulder and leaves the other shoulder bare so I ordered my usual size 10 and expected to have the hem shortened for a reception on the beach. I knew the ruching would be flattering when I wear a proper foundation garment to smooth the area of my waist and hips. But as soon as I opened the small plastic bag it arrived in, I knew I would return it. It was a wrinkled mess, without a full lining, and unless I had it pressed by someone I trust I would not risk packing it for a destination wedding not knowing what same day services are available at the resort. The Mocha color was rich and added to the overall look of the gown if it would've appeared as in the on-line photo. This dress was not worth the $595 cost so I chose to keep 2 less expensive dresses that draped beautifully and appeared event-ready right out of the box.

Like the style.

Beautiful fabric, comfortable except i think it’s made for taller women. I got a size 2 (my height 5’3’’)and it was a bit long had to raise it even with heels. It is flattering overall.
