Papillio by Birkenstock Arizona Flex Exquisite Platform Sandal (Women)

I'm on a quest to not constrict my feet in any way (I am determined not to have mangled feet when I reach old age), so I've been buying Birkenstocks, but they have never been my style. Therefore, I was really excited to see these sandals and also the Birkenstock Almina sandals! They're more polished-looking than the cork-soled Birks. However, they're both really problematic (as is the Papillo line, I think) and not nearly as good for your feet. The sole is quite heavy and inflexible and, because there's no ankle strap, it puts a lot of pressure on the ankle and Achilles tendon when walking. I also wish they didn't offer these in only the B width (which is narrow/medium), because I prefer the roominess of the traditional Birkenstock M width (medium/wide). And these are awfully expensive for what you get. My Crocs fisherman sandals are a lot more comfy, and only about $50, and my Franco Sarto Ina sandals are also more comfy and dressier (though neither has the arch support, which I was looking for.)
