Avoid!
If you're looking for a pair of shoes to roll your ankles in, then look no further! Not good for any semi-technical or hilly trails. I'll keep these for flat trails and gravel roads, nothing else.

By pure chance, I came across a North Face sneaker in an ad. I've been a loyal Altra buyer for years because of the wide toe box, so I figured I'd hedge my bets and ordered two pairs of Altras and one pair of North Face. The North Face arrived first.
