The Retinol Serum

I've used many Retinols in the past with varying results. My biggest problem has been redness/flakiness. Using this has been one of the few times that I haven't experienced this issue. And at a nominal 0.06% Retinol in a base of various emollients and hydrating ingredients, it makes sense as to why! That doesn't mean the product is significantly weaker than other Retinols, it's a decent mid-level strength, but I do hope AB release a higher strength version for those of us who've reached a plateau with this and need something with more of a punch. I think every retinol product I've tried has been in a very small amount, normally pea sized or less. I was able to use more with this, almost on par with a regular moisturizer. And I didn't need to build up my skins' tolerance either, I was using it nightly from the get go. The fragrance in this is almost unnoticeable and the texture is like a lotion. It sinks in effortlessly and I have noticed a slight reduction in fine lines, and a definite improvement in my skins' texture. Another benefit of using this has been the noticeable (but not huge) difference in my oiliness and occasional acne. I believe it's the 'Zinc' complex in here, as I've used most of the other ingredients in here, in one product or the other before, without seeing such a difference. Love the packaging, liking the results but without trying to sound like a broken record, it really IS highly-priced and I'm not all that sure if I can budget for fitting this in to my regular skincare routine. I got this as a sample and my skin looked that that of a baby angel. I got this sample and the moisturizer. I had never seen anything work like this brand and I am no stranger to high end products. This stuff was another level. It is extremely expensive and if I remarry someone wealthy I will definitely switch to this stuff. I normally use skinceuticals which I have been happy with but it pales in comparison to the Augustinus products.

It is a really lovely serum. Sinks in to the skin well and has a lovely feel to it. Having no issues woth the retinol thay is in the serum which has not always been the case. However it is very expensive. Had this not been part of the advent calendar I wouldn't buy or repurchase it. There are cheaper products with similar results available.

Received the Augustinus Bader retinol serum in the Space NK advent calendar. It’s a lovely serum, sinks in well and hasn’t given me any peeling areas. I use it every other night. I’ve not noticed a massive difference to my skin, but I do regularly use retinol products. I think there Ee products out there that give the same effect at a much smaller price tag.

I don’t really want to like this because of the price tag.I had a couple of small tube samples to try and liked but wasn’t sure if that was enough for a true test of the product.I was unsure whether to purchase the full size but when I saw it at a decent discount I thought would buy so could give it a try over a longer period.Unfortunately I really like it.There is something in it I’m not sure what that really brighten my face and gives it a lovely glow.
