Young Western Boot (Women)

I was skeptical about these when they arrived. They are well-constructed, handsome, sturdy boots, with a truly handmade look, but the fit is unusual — very wide in the forefoot, yet tight across the instep. So tight that I had to use a shoe horn to slip my foot in. However, once I zipped up these booties, and walked around the house in them, I liked them a lot more. The boots, with their soft leather lining, molded around my feet immediately. They fit like I’ve owned them for a long while. They will hold up for many years, I think. These are remarkably comfortable for a hard-soled, pointed-toe boot. The wide forefoot does give your foot a slightly chunky look, but that’s an acceptable trade off for comfort. The extra space allows for thicker socks, too, for cold weather, and could accommodate a gel shoe liner if you need cushioning. Other than the wide forefoot, they are TTS. I am a 9 M and purchased the EU39. The high price made me hesitate to place the order, but I have been looking for a boot like this for years, to replace a pair of gorgeous handmade booties I wore to shreds. These aren’t quite the same quality, but close. I am happy with my purchase.
