Bed Stu

Founded in L.A. in 1995 but inspired by the Brooklyn streets, Bed Stu handcrafts shoes and boots for women and men. The brand uses traditional shoemaking techniques like hand-weaving and hand-sewing, as well as natural leathers (from free-range animals when possible) and a vegetable-based tanning process, so each shoe is unique and imperfect but always genuine.

I expected more
I ordered another style, the Hera sandal that I was blown away by so I ordered 2 more styles from this brand Bed Stu. This sandal Claire III that I am reviewing is a really beautiful design. However, the quality and fit that I was expecting was based on my first sandal from Bed Stu I received 2 weeks ago called the Hera. The leather is stiffer and the sole both inner and outer are so different that they don’t look like they are the same brand. The fit is tighter iand I’m guessing it’s because the leather is stiff? Also, my toes go to the very tip unlike the first Sandal I purchased. The Claire III doesn’t have a reinforced area on the sole (heel and pivot) where most tension happens to leather soles. I’ll share pics of them side by side. I’ll probably keep these and figure out a way to soften them because the design is really great
