Bed Stu
Founded in L.A. in 1995 but inspired by the Brooklyn streets, Bed Stu handcrafts shoes and boots for women and men. The brand uses traditional shoemaking techniques like hand-weaving and hand-sewing, as well as natural leathers (from free-range animals when possible) and a vegetable-based tanning process, so each shoe is unique and imperfect but always genuine.

The Claire III
The Claire III is not only well made and a beautiful shoe, but is so comfortable. I love it! I have four pairs of Bed Stu sandals and I love their commitment to quality and the environment.

I ordered three sandals size
I ordered three sandals size 7.5. This one is much smaller than the other two. I need to return it.

HI Norma, Thank you for your feedback. We would recommend swapping out for a different pair, as when things are handmade, sometimes there is room for human error. The one you say is smaller may have been weaved tighter, by a different set of hands.

I expected more
I ordered another style, the Hera sandal that I was blown away by so I ordered 2 more styles from this brand Bed Stu.
This sandal Claire III that I am reviewing is a really beautiful design. However, the quality and fit that I was expecting was based on my first sandal from Bed Stu I received 2 weeks ago called the Hera. The leather is stiffer and the sole both inner and outer are so different that they don’t look like they are the same brand. The fit is tighter iand I’m guessing it’s because the leather is stiff? Also, my toes go to the very tip unlike the first Sandal I purchased. The Claire III doesn’t have a reinforced area on the sole (heel and pivot) where most tension happens to leather soles. I’ll share pics of them side by side. I’ll probably keep these and figure out a way to soften them because the design is really great
