I normally wear a size 8, but followed Nordstrom’s advice and ordered size 6. Don’t do it. I had to return the 6, for my usual size 8. Fit is very flattering.

Not the NYDJ quality I expected
The fit was nit flattering and the quality of the fabric was poor, it felt like plastic.I used to like the NYDJ but the fabric and fit has declined. I returned these..

Changed Fit
I bought a pair of the Marilyn Crop Jeans two years ago and love the way they fit, so I thought I would buy another pair. I was so disappointed when I received the new pair. The fit at the bottom of the leg is wide instead of nicely fitting to your leg. This is not an attractive look at all. When you order them the photo shows the old style but when I went into Nordstroms review site I noticed the photo displays the new style.

Boot cut sticks out on the sides
I have tried the Marilyn style over the years and previously found it not fitting. The picture looked exactly like what I was going for so I thought I'd give the style another chance. Big mistake. They are mid-rise (I am 5'7", 170 lbs) which is not flattering on me and they are NOT straight but look like modified bell bottoms. Whiskering is subtle but I still don't like the look. Returned.

Things that make ya go "Hmmm"
Hmmmm.... I love NYJDs! Have a couple pairs, long and crop. The fit and look always bring a compliment to a "Mature woman", so miracles DO happen! But with this order, the fit in the body is great.. to the cuff - then, unlike the picture shown, it does not hug the calf as shown. Hoped it wouldn't look like a "bell". Maybe just me, but this pair does not have the sleek look, that lines the leg, like the picture. The cuff is "spacious" to say the least.. still debating whether to keep. So down from a usual " 5" on this rating.

Just What I wanted
...which was a pair of comfortable jeans/capris that fit well. The fabric is medium weight, the length is as shown (a little longer on me because I'm short) and the jeans are very comfortable at the waist/hip. The pants are, of course, a little tighter or a little looser depending on where my weight is (110-115). I bought a 6P.

These jeans are great because they are straight legged and while they are form fitting, they are not too tight at the thigh or knee. The waist fits comfortably at your natural waist line. They wash well and I have always air dried my jeans. The length is great and because being straight legged, they do not ride up, but fall back into place after sitting.
