Fae Tall Boot (Women)

I have the world's largest calves, and it is next to impossible for me to find a boot that fits. I thought I'd try this boot in the tan suede, with full expect that I would be sending them back. To my delight, the wide shaft version FIT ME! I was ecstatic, until I wore them all day for work, and mid-morning they slumped down around my ankles, which was not mentioned in the description of the boot, and was not what I was looking for. However, I was so in love with the boot when it stood up full height that I purchased some stiff leather and rubber cemented the leather inside the full length front panels of the boots to hold their upright shape. So, with effort, they are exactly the boots I wanted. Beware of the excessive slouch, at least in the suede version. Smooth leather may not have the issue?

I love this boot. But I have to return them. I ordered the regular calf but it is still too wide for me. the boots are also too high. since I'm 4' 11", I'm used to boots being too high. I've taken a few to the shoemaker to "hem" them for me. But if I hem these, then they will seem even wider as they do taper a bit at the top. If these are not concerns for you, then the quality of the leather is very nice and the heel height is just right.

I tried these on at the store in a wide calf , size 7W. I usually wear a 7M but I wanted to wear boot socks with them so I tried the wider width. They fit fine with the exception of the calf so I had to order them with a regular calf. When they arrived I tried them on and the back of my foot was slipping and sliding, even with the boot socks. So I downsized to a 6.5 W. It was perfect. These boots run large in the foot length as well as the calf. Also the the shaft is very tall so if you have shorter legs they may not be the boot for you. Even if you think you need a wide calf you should try a regular calf first because the shaft leather is very soft and it looks sloppy and can slide down if it is too big. Overall, after finally finding the right size I am very happy with them. The heel is a nice height and they look very classy and can be worn with casual or dressy attire. I have received many compliments.

I am always thankful for a pair of boots that fit my wider calf. How refreshing to find this one that does. Naturalizer is a go to brand for me since they make a quality boot in a wider width for the foot and a wide calf option for those of us who do not have thin legs and small feet. I bought this boot in saddle tan suede, a great color that goes with many items in my wardrobe. I am very pleased with this purchase. It will be winter 2020 before I wear them since summer heat is here in the Sonoran Desert where I live, but these boots are a timeless style so I am set.
