Similar shoes…one, not so good.
I have two pair of Emile which I bought together, and have never really liked…would have sworn off Mephisto had they not offered Elsie Perf….which I love. The Emile I found too TIGHT ON THE TOP, and I have a very average, not swollen or thick foot. The Elsie perf is just perfect…however, Mephisto answers no questions about if and when it might be offered. I can still wear the Emile, but they are just so so…

not friendly to wide feet
Someone with narrower feet will probably love these shoes. They are my first Mephisto disappointment. The Emilie flats look as if they'd fit like the Elsie Perf flats but they don't -- the Emilie toe box is quite a bit smaller and stiffer and the sole doesn't seem as cushy. I have wide feet and trust Mephisto's high quality materials to break in well, but these shoes are still not perfectly comfortable even after many miles of walking and week at a cobbler getting professionally stretched. They look very sharp, and I keep hoping they'll become clouds to walk on like my other Mephisto shoes, but the first month has not been a good start.

Shoes rubbed the back of my heels.
Shoes were not comfortable, and rubbed my heels raw; and I only wore them once for about an hour.
