Hourglass 1.5mm Mechanical Gel Eyeliner
I have used every eyeliner on the Nordstrom counters thanks to the Cosmetic manager who is wonderful at my store. I was in Las Vegas however, when I was introduced to Hourglass. Oh my goodness!!! She told me it would only last around 20-25 days, and it lasted me about 35,, because I do not use heavy liner, but it is AMAZING! First of all, you don't have to sharpen it, so you don't watch your expensive pencils being shaved away, it doesn't break off when being sharpened like other favorite all day liners... which about made me pass out...
It goes on so smoothly, I am auburn, and buy the canyon color, it is dark enough to transition away from the black I normally get. If you want to smudge you have to work fast. If you want it to stay on the water line, just let it air dry a few seconds. It is the best, So easy to work with, I ordered three, then I spent a weekend in Chicago and bought another one there... Please carry them at my Nordstrom!!! PS I thought I could get it quicker ordering it on line, (not thru Nordstrom).. it was going to take about two weeks, and cost twice as much! I received mine in four days from my favorite store!

I used to love this thin eyeliner, but something changed. It used to twist easily and last at least a month, and now it is very difficult to twist out the product. Does the pencil have a mechanical problem, or is it really already out of product and barely lasts a week now? Not worth it at all anymore. Very disappointing.

What a great eyeliner. It really delivers on the description. Just a few clicks, careful as it doesn't retract back down. It's great to create a thin line right at the base of your lashes. It can be made thicker of course, with repeated sweeps.
The bonus for me is that it's truly, honestly waterproof! So many 'waterproof' liners don't last 20 minutes in my water line. I can do a tagline with this and it stays, all day. Blending must be done quickly as it sets fast.
My only request (please, please please!) is that it come in different colors. Brown would be fantastic, as black in the waterline creates a very specific look, and something a little softer would be welcomed.

I just met my new love
I looove it!!!! It glides on, sets and stays put. I wasn't sure about the small tip but it turns out that's the very best part. It allowed me to do a small cateye with my hooded eyes. Plus, at 49 the skin... you know. This gets right in there. I will be buying in every color.

Great Control
I use both “canyon’ and “bronze” gel liner depending on the intensity of the look I am creating with my blue eyes. I am careful not to twist up too much of the liner because the tip can feel dry if too much is left exposed to the air. I still rate this a “5” because I twist more liner up and then it has great control and glides smoothly like you would expect of a gel. There also seems to be enough product in the pen that I don’t feel like I have to replace it too frequently.

Broke Within A Week
When it works, it’s smooth and inky. However, maybe because it’s so thin, mine broke within a week (wouldn’t twist up anymore, even though I hear something rolling around inside). Not worth it.
