Verona II Bit Loafer (Men)

The Verona II Italian Bit Loafer is a great shoe! I love its style, comfort and texture, and the flexibility to dress up or down. But, I have two reservations: ultra thin outsole and very hard heel. The thin outsole feels like you are wearing a slipper as you can sense the ground below, and the hard heels are noisy on hard surfaces. A thicker outsole and softer sounding heel would make this a perfect shoe!

The chili leather is rich and versatile, and they pair effortlessly with both casual and dressier outfits. Comfortable, stylish, and clearly built to last. I also went back to purchase a chili leather belt to match. Sharp.

The Verona loafer is the best bit loafer out there. I’ve had several pairs from Gucci, Ferragamo and other luxury brands, and this shoe meets and exceeds their quality at half the cost. The most telling sign is A&E’s commitment to a leather outsole. For the past decade luxury loafers have moved to cheap rubber outsoles that are uncomfortable and can’t be resoled, forcing you to buy a new pair from them. You’ll also notice that they use thin, hard pebbled leather, which is also cheap. The Verona leather uses top quality Italian leather that consistently molds to your foot after a week and stays soft and comfortable for the life of the shoe. These shoes fit great right out of the box. I don’t leave reviews often, but I feel compelled to given A&E’s dedication to keeping a stylish, classic shoe classic over several decades, at the same price point, where luxury brands have lowered their quality and increased price by hundreds of dollars. I couldn’t be happier to get my new pair of veronas!
