Love these!
I love these pants. The wash is really nice and they fit wonderfully. They are very stretchy and I ended up going one size down. I'm usually a 4 or 4p and kept the size 26 (also ordered 27). I generally have trouble finding pants that fit well. I am 5'1'' and usually have to size up to fit pants around my waist but always end up with them too baggy in the butt and thigh. This pair fits pretty tightly, which is what I wanted, especially in the legs. I have never considered jeans to be comfortable casual clothes but this might be the pair that changes my mind.
As other reviews have noted, these do have more of a jegging fit, which I really like about them. If you want more space around the leg and ankle this is not for you. On a taller person they are probably more low rise, especially since they are juniors pants. They are not thick denim, but they're not so thin that they would ever be see through stretched out like a bad pair of leggings. Note that the front pockets are not functional--this would be my one improvement for these pants.

low quality material
I have purchased 5 pairs of the 1822 denim butter jeans in the past 2 years. At first i thought they were great and so comfortable! But after a couple months the crotch literally pills up and falls apart. Do not buy, they are reasonably priced and comfy but not worth it. I have never had jeans do this before and it is so annoying. I should have learned after the first pair did it but what can I say? I purchased my first pair and over-zealously bought 3 more. Then one pair started getting holes in the crotch and I repurchased it, only for the rest of the jeans to do the same. DO NOT BUY.

These are NOT jeans. They are leggings.
These are not jeans; they are leggings. They work fine in that capacity, but I think Nordstrom needs to be a little more honest in their description. They are very thin and super stretchy and the stitching is just decorative. They are comfortable as the other reviewers mentioned, but know you are getting jeggings, not jeans.

Comfy & flattering
For reference: I'm 5'7, 155lb, 4 months postpartum- bigger hip/thigh and small butt & waist. I bought these in a 29 & they're a bit big on me- they stretch out so size down. I love the material- stretchy enough I can get on the floor and play with my kids! Flattering fit & mid-rise which prevents showing crack/muffin top. Overall I like these- just wish I had ordered a size down.

good staple/solid jean
Wish the description had stated that the front pockets are not real pockets. Was disappointed to find that out, so wanted to let others know. Will still keep the jean because it fits well, true to size (I'm a 27, 5'5'' 135 lbs).

Really Good fit But..!!!!
Very cute jeans, they really fit nice!!! They have a slim flattering cut and a lower rise... which I love!!! The only issue I have is that lately the gradient effect they do on the front of many jeans has now been extended too far down on to the thighs. It looks strange carrying the lines down so low and when you are shorter (maybe when your tall too??) it makes your thighs looks unporportionally short!!! I have been having the hardest time lately finding new jeans.. The materials have been way too stretchy (forget finding a pair with no stretch!!!) & thin, and it is getting harder and harder to find a low rise cuts. I did finally manage to find two pairs I could have kept but they had the worn gradient effect going way too far down onto the front of the thighs. Does this look good on anyone?? Perhaps it’s just me but this effect makes me look shorter and out of proportion. ☹️ The search continues!!!!!
