17-Piece 3-Ply Stainless Steel Cookware Set

These definitely are beautiful pans. But, I find them very hard to clean and food gets stuck on them when cooking. I use low to medium heat, but still have a hard time with the sticking. I"m not sure I'm happy with spending this much money on them with how difficult they are to clean with the amount of food stuck on them.

I had high hopes for this set when they arrived as they seemed sturdy. Unfortunately, after only 3 months of use they now have an iridescent discoloration to the inside of all the pots and pans. Lately, they have developed a weird white film that shows up when it is dry, but disappears when wet. I have tried everything to get it off, and nothing works. I feel like this was such a waste of money.

I have owned this set for about a year now and it was a great choice. I have used practically every piece by now and they all perform admirably. There is some minor discoloration on the cooking surface of the 10" skillet as I use that one the most, but some oxidation was expected. Heating the pans is very quick, even on medium heat. You don't need to use anything higher unless you are boiling water for pasta. The cooking performance is on par with my cast iron pieces, and the glass lids are one of the primary reasons I purchased this particular set over other Viking or other brands' sets. I like seeing my food as it cooks. The little vent holes do a good job of keeping steam directed away from you, but they can't contain it all and there is some leakage through the edges where the lid hits the pan. There are a couple of downsides, however. That same 10" frypan seems to have warped one day after I washed it (always by hand.) I do not know how it happened, but it no longer sits flat on my glasstop range, or counter or anything else I put it on. It has developed a point on the bottom of the pan which makes heating a little more difficult. I have tried pressing and nudging with my hands to try and flatten it out, with limited success, but am hesitant to take a hammer after it like I have pans in the past. This has made that pan rather unstable when I am using it, a slight bump and it nearly spins off the burner and risks dumping itself onto the floor. The lid handles can get rather warm if you have a lot of steam escaping from the vent, but I have certainly felt worse. The other downside is the handles, while nice and long, are extremely uncomfortable to hold for any long period of time. If you are doing more than moving it from point A to B, like cleaning or frying/flipping, stirring, or dishing/plating, your hand will likely cramp. These handles are NOT ergonomic in any sense of the word. They are also not light. While lighter than my cast iron, they do have some heft.

Good quality products, this set covers all my cookware needs.

I’ve been using my new Viking pots and pans for a month now and am really loving them. I cook at home a lot so they get lots of use. I was worried about the move from nonstick to stainless but so far have had no issues, not even with eggs. The reviews were right about using lower temperatures with stainless. This set is perfect and has everything I need. I love that the lids are glass and interchangeable.

Beautiful to look at. Top quality. Works very well with our induction stove.
