Details & care

What it is: A scented candle that envelopes your heart and home with a spicy and smoky vanilla fragrance.

What it does: Inspired by dense, black vanilla pods that are so fragrant that one is enough to perfume everything. It takes long months of patience for the small pods to reveal their captivating and powerful scent. The spice then discloses its leathery, almost smoky accents.

How to use: The first time you burn your diptyque candle, allow it to burn for at least two hours until the whole top is liquid with wax to help it burn more evenly next time. Before lighting, trim the wick to 1/4-inch length, which will allow the candle to burn slowly and help avoid black marks around the edge of the glass. After blowing out the candle, recenter and straighten the wick.

Viva Vanille

I'm very picky about vanilla-scented anything, as it is usually a cloying, sweet smell. I was interested in trying this candle by Diptyque because if anyone could do Vanille justice, it would be them. Wow! I love this candle and will use it through the holidays. PLEASE NOTE: if you expect this candle to smell like a Tahitian vanilla extract, you will be disappointed. Diptyque has created a complex Vanille fragrance with their exquisite essential oils. I have purchased Diptyque candles for 10 years and this candle is like no other. Imagine walking into an old Italian church with the altar candles burning. You smell vanilla, frankincense & myrrh with top notes of tobacco leaf and musk. It's heavenly.

Sad

I wanted to like this candle after all the hype however the vanilla scent is not vanilla at all !!! It smells like a night by the fire pit ~ smoke and wood no vanilla. I know Nordstrom would take it back as they are amazing with CS but it was my mistake for not reading the reviews. I’ll stick with the cheap YC vanilla jar !!

The Ghost of Vanilla

Here’s the best way I can describe the diptyque Vanille scent: Imagine you purchased a vintage oak cabinet where vanilla pods, tobacco and old papers were stored for years and completely forgotten. The warmth of the vanilla is present, but it’s varnished with that oaky, resinous, leathery smell that comes with older furniture wood and books. It’s a scent with a history.

Smooth woody fall scent

The best smelling candle you will ever smell in your whole entire life. Be prepared, once you start buying diptyque you can never go back. Ever.

Lopsided Candle

I'm so sad, I splurged on this and it arrived unevenly poured in glass. It doesn't look like it melted because the glass is completely clean on the side that is not full to the brim. I went ahead and lit it to see if it would even out. I should have returned it but I don't have a lot of flexibility to run errands.

... Intoxicating

This is the very best candle ever. The smell is heavenly and there is no soot if you take specific care of them. My home is an open floor plan and I can smell the candles on the second floor. The Vanilla is outrageous, with subtle hints of other awesomeness. Enjoy!!❤️❤️❤️
