Touche Éclat Cushion Foundation

I was very excited when I saw that YSL had finally brought their cushion foundation to the states (especially as a nordstrom exclusive!), as I am a fan of cushion foundations and their easy application, touch ups, and versatility. Just to clarify, this cushion compact is NOT the same as the YSL fusion ink cushion which is exclusively sold in Asian markets. This cushion contains their other foundation (YSL has 2 foundations out so far), which is Touche Eclat. This cushion is made in France while the YSL fusion ink cushion is made in Korea, hence, the package and product quality difference. I've been using this product for about a week now and for first impressions, it does have a fragrance to it and I personally like it, but others might not. Just like the name says, it's the touche eclat foundation in a cushion compact and does come with about half the normal amount of product you would get in a full bottle. However, I prefer to use cushion foundations because it's incredibly convenient for touch ups and when carrying it around so I don't mind the con in having less product. Sadly, this high-end cushion does not come with a refill like most cushions do. As for the packaging, it's very luxurious and lightweight, so I highly recommend it for the perk of having something beautiful to look at when you do touch ups/when it's on your makeup counter. I somehow cracked my mirror, but I didn't drop it or anything. So I'd say that it's fragile. The foundation itself goes on nicely and doesn't oxidize. My only con is that the puff is different from the YSL fusion ink cushion and the two different sides literally do not make a difference in how your foundation looks, which is why I bumped it down a star. I just use it in a dabbing motion and get a nice, slightly dewy finish. For reference, I bought the shade B 30 and my skin type is oily t-zone but generally dry that requires a lot of moisturizing; minimal forehead acne; occasional breakouts near the mouth area.

This foundation is a must try. It applies beautifully and covers pores and imperfections. It has a natural finish and looks like you are wearing nothing. It layers beautifully. It has a cucumber type scent that is refreshing and not overpowering. The undertone is perfect, very warm and yellow. For reference, I am a light to medium skin tone with yellow undertones. I am currently an NC 25-30 and I chose B40. I have combination skin. It is a perfect match and has the perfect yellow warm undertone! I also have the ysl fushion ink cushion, and the touché eclat cushion is just as beautiful. The packaging is gorgeous as well, and I love the dual sponge that it comes with! Wonderful product that will be in my rotation!

So I hate to be over the top here but this is an incredible cushion foundation. First it feels so nice on the skin, if you're one to want to touch your face and not feel a tacky mess then you're going to love it! It somehow feels so light on the skin but blends into the skin with a smoothing even effect, I have VERY dry skin and this is gives a slight glow barely noticeable nothing at all oily... I think this would work on many skin types. The only thing is small selection on shades. I got the B 40 (blonde blue green eyes but like to self tan a bit) and this might be on the lighter side, definitely can go darker for warmer weather. Thank you YSL and Nordstrom as this is finally a solid foundation that I will use everyday day.

Was looking for an easier applied foundation than liquid ones. Tried shades in store, but ordered online. Satisfied with the sponge and the look. However, the shades I tried in store which were stored in little bottles are much brighter when you use the cushion to apply on face... If you think B30 is good on your skin in store, try to order B20...

This cushion foundation is so awesome. I have used sulwhasoo's both brightening cushion and perfecting cushion and the amore pacific cushion but this one wins the game. Its very light on skin and has very healthy and natural glow. The coverage is light to normal just like other cushion foundations. I gave it 4 star bcoz i dont like the applicator sponge it comes with. I used normal cushion foundation applicator and it works great. Also this one doesnt have any spf maybe thts why its not as sticky as other cushion foundations. Otherthan tht i love this foundation sooo much . I bought almond shade which is B30 and is perfect match. I wear BR 30 in chanel.

Amazing product! I've been using the YSL foundation for years but this is in a class all of its own. Sheer, light, illuminating. Goes on like silk and is easily buildable. I'm very pale and ivory is perfect. Don't sweat which side of the sponge you use. If there is a difference I don't see it. It just works great.
