Surge Luxe Water Repellent Ripstop Backpack

Ordered mainly for work and travel. I like a backpack so my hands are free when traveling, and wanted something to keep my laptop safe. I researched a LOT of different brands and couldn't find one that checked all the boxes until this one. Lots of different pockets on the front to organize things, fit both my small and large laptops, cords, two drink holders on the sides. And I appreciate the stylish accents of the zipper pulls and embroidery having the rose gold color.

My 10yo daughter needed something larger than her Jester for school because she has to carry all of her school supplies with her during the day, as well as a Chromebook in a bulky case. Add a snack and a water bottle and the Jester couldn't hang. I thought the Surge would be a better option and loved that it had the chest and waist strap as she weighs all of 65 lbs. Unfortunately, it almost feels like it has less room than the Jester. I appreciate all the different pockets you get compared to the Jester, but if you actually put school supplies in all the pockets, it's a struggle to get a bulky Chromebook and all of her notebooks in and vice versa. I wonder if the extra padding for your back is part of what's prohibiting using more of the space, but I don't know. I think we are going to have to return because it was honestly too much money to keep around just for casual use. The luxe version is gorgeous though and if you don't need to carry a lot of notebooks or a bulky computer, you might be okay with the size.
