Clean Rinse Clarifying Scalp Serum

This product now ranks at the top of my favorite products to treat my scalp psoriasis. Many products require true scrubbing of the scalp after softening scales, and sometimes, it’s just too painful. Enter this scalp “mask”. I simply apply and let sit for a bit before I jump in the shower. I shampoo like usual, no scrubbing of my tender scalp, and voila! So grateful to have found this awesome product.

For the last couple of years I've dealt with dry scalp issues. It's not only uncomfortable, but at times visible, which isn't exactly HOT. After the first time using this, I saw an enormous improvement - probably 85% cleared up scalp. After the second use, I would say 90%. I've used only 2x so far, once each week. I'm not usually into brands that seem like they're trendy due to branding and influencer reviews, but this is my first Sunday Riley product and it makes me curious about the others.

Sooo after two uses I have mixed feelings about this product. The first time I used it on dry hair and let it sit for about 10 mins. It rinsed clean and my scalp felt great and my hair felt soft. The second time I used it after I wet my hair down (since it can be used either way). Again I let it sit for about 10 mins. Rinsed it out and then went to do a deep conditioner and looked in the mirror and everywhere my wet hair touched had a red angry chemical/sunburn look to it- face, cheeks, ears, neck, shoulders, and down my back where my wet hair had dripped a bit. I could not feel any burning sensation while it was on nor while washing it out. But once I dried my face and arms I could feel the burn of a sunburn. After throughly washing my skin and slathering some aloe vera gel and Aveeno on it it did lessen in redness. My scalp, however, was not red nor torn up and my hair again felt clean. So while this does work it seems like the incidence of burning on face and body is very easy to happen and does not take long! AND the worst part is YOU DO NOT KNOW IT IS HAPPENING! It also burned places that it really wasn’t in direct contact with, but only where it must have mixed with the water on my hair and ran/dripped some; so it caused that much skin damage while diluted! And, yes, I read reviews that other people had this complaint of skin redness, but since my first use was only positive results I figured my skin was just not as sensitive. So while this product does work well on the scalp and hair it’s insane how cautious you have to be to not scald your skin. I can’t decide if I want to keep it and try it again or throw it away. As a side note this is my first experience with Sunday Riley and I have to say I’m really feeling this way about everything I ordered. While everything sometimes works ok it seems like every product is finicky- from pilling up to not interacting well with other brands. I feel like this is a super expensive brand and I don’t know why it is so popular if it only works well 50% of the time. I guess that’s where incentives for reviews really skews how good a brand really is.

This product may be wonderful for some BUT people with sensitive skin avoid it at all cost!!! My scalp was inflamed, burning, and itching all at the same time around my ear and forhead stayed red and irritated for hours after use. I'm not trying to be ugly I'm just trying to warn people with sensitive skin because there's no disclaimer on the box and it should be

This helps to keep my scalp clear and in good shape. It works very quickly so I'm not having to slow down or adjust my hair care routine to use this. I use it once every 1-2 weeks. I would love if refills were an option, given that it's a plastic bottle, but the tip is great for getting to my scalp through my relatively thick hair, so it is delivered pretty efficiently. I will apply it in sections, then rub it around my scalp, then leave it while I get ready for the shower and wash it out. I do think the bottle lasts for a while at least, and I see the need for a squeezable bottle, so no reduction in stars for using plastic, but again, would love a refill option.
