Genevieve Knee High Boot (Women)

I wanted to love these boots so, so badly...but they have some pretty salient flaws. I grabbed these boots in the black leather and cognac suede and the cognac boots were definitely worse. The shafts of the cognac boots were thin and weak so I imagine they'll get slouchy over time. I think if that was on purpose, that would be great, but that doesn't seem to be the intent here. Regardless, I just didn't think the price point made sense given the low quality of the fabric. The black leather boots had a thicker leather, but the shaft still had issues. As you walk, the leather by the ankle caves in a ton--way more than is acceptable. The result is that they look pretty goofy as you're walking. I know all boots do this so that you can take steps, but this was beyond relative to my other boots. If you're 5'5'' like me, note that these definitely cut into my knees when I tried sitting. It's not a big deal, but unless you stretch your legs out while sitting, I'm sure the leather will crease or fold over time. On the bright side, if you also have slimmer calves, the circumference on these wasn't bad. In the end, I returned both. If you're looking for a leather boot from Sale and don't mind a higher heeled boot, I also grabbed the Marc Fisher Perina and much prefer those. The leather was thicker so they didn't slouch and cave in awkwardly and the circumference is noticeably more narrow if that's what you need. I ended up grabbing those in the black leather though I'm super bummed they don't have a low heel potion like these.
