Gamechanger Rec Pants

It is a struggle to get my husband to wear anything but jeans. He has large calves so ‘lose fit’ is his only option. He has two pairs of dress pants that look huge, especially in the legs. I hesitated to order these but a great return policy with Nordstrom made it super easy to say yes. He loves them for comfort and fit, not too tight on the calves! I love his more modern look rather than a grumpy old man style. Now if I can find a nice dress shirt that’s as comfy as his heavy metal t-shirts!

Own the All Day Every Day Jogger (and love them!) and decided to get a pair of the pants. Love 'em both! The pants are perfect for travel. As long as you wear an untucked shirt (to hide the waistband) they don't look at all like sweats and they feel great! Very stretchy and comfortable. Throw on a pair of Puma's and wear for a modern, casual, professional & stylish look that can be worn for business or pleasure. Great pant!

Pre-COVID we were planning a trip and my husband needed pants that would be comfortable on the long plane ride but would also work as decent pants on our trip. These pants are AMAZING. They look truly like real slacks but the comfort is like sweatpants. He scoffed because of the price, but darn if he does not wear them all the time and say how much he loves them! Hidden zipper pockets are brilliant.

I own multiple pairs of pants/joggers from Public Rec but this latest version, while described as "Gamechanger Rec" is more like the Stadium fabric-- not as structured, and more lounge-y. The blend of Nylon/Spandex for these is also different than the version sold on Public Rec's website (88/12 here, 85/15 at PR site). These have more stretch and are lighter than the standard Gamechanger fabric which might be fine for some people, but it also shows every...inch?... of contouring under them. However, for 50% cheaper here than on PR's website, some people might be fine with showing off a bit... aka VPL even with the faux fly .

In 2020, I bought a pair of Navy and a pair of Gray a few years ago during the early WFH days. I tried out similar brands to Public Rec — like Tailord, and Mack Weldon — and nothing was very great. Today’s brands are MUCH better. PR are on sale for $54, and still not worth it — let alone $100+ full price. Quince and Nordstrom’s Zella are better, and their regular prices are cheaper than this sale price. For $100 for a pair, Lulu, Vuori, Rhone, Ministry of Supply, etc are sooo much better. I’d never consider buying PR in 2025.
