Shawl Collar Plush Longline Robe

I received this as a Christmas gift from my son and it was his first ever gift he bought me with his own hard earned money, bless his heart.. but who knew this beautiful robe would have to be returned? White was as beautiful as snow, very soft and warm. He did say that he wanted to get the next thing to Barefoot Dreams since he didn’t want to pay $160 for that robe.. so he got this for me. I washed it in cold water, delicate cycle and placed in dryer on low setting. When it was time to wear it, there was shedding all over. You can see all the pieces of the soft hairs just bunched up along the collar and the robe. I had to return it. I didn’t want to because it was a very thoughtful gift from my son but I knew I couldn’t wear something like this. So now I’m on the hunt once again for a nice, warm robe that won’t shed. Perhaps the Barefoot Dreams may be worth it if it doesn’t shed? But this is a beautiful robe I will say.. could it be it’s just the white one that sheds?

This is the softest robe there ever was! This robe is soft on the inside and soft on the outside. This was my primary criteria. Regarding size, the large fit me, but was not generous. When you want to be wrapped in snuggly softness, go up a size (if in doubt.) Appearance is not complimentary. It is a robe. In summary: I went into the store to touch every robe. A very soft feel was my primary criteria. The robe is not heavy. My house is very cold, but this robe keeps my warm.

First: the fleece is beautiful. The red is very red, the feel of the robe is very plush. It just looks festive just hanging on the back of my bathroom door. It is cut closer to the body than most of my robes, though. Like many women, I carry more weight on my lower half of my body than in the upper half, and while the top of the robe fits me just right, the bottom half of the robe doesn't quite overlap. Not a problem with a nightgown or pajamas under it, but I could not wear this robe with nothing underneath. I'm used to robes being somewhat fuller in the skirt or with a more generous overlap at the front. The length is good -- it hits me about mid-calf, as shown in the photo, and I'm 5'9" tall. Sleeve length is good, also. If I were to buy this again, I might size up but that doesn't always solve the problem if the robe isn't cut for my type of figure.
