'Classic' Smartcare™ Relaxed Fit Double Pleated Cotton Pants

I have many pair of the "Classic" Smartcare pants - they have been excellent, so much so that it's been a few years as they last so well. The 'new improved' "Classic" isn't half the pant that it was. Much softer material that is lighter weight and not nearly the Smart care material that I've come to love and want.- they were made in Malaysia known for it's cotton products. These are made in Vietnam and noticeably different in a not so great way. The original version wore like iron and were indeed wrinkle free; I've not had good luck with soft material in the past and suspect these will not wear nearly as good. Additionally the color Navy that I ordered is a much lighter, less formal shade of blue. A few slight changes in the tailoring features with a slightly different but still ok fit. They will most likely go back - not up to Nordstrom quality standards that we know they are capable of.

These are nowhere near quality I have come to expect from Nordstrom. These are not the same pants I have ordered previously, more like an imported product I would receive from LLBean. Sizing is small, fabric wrinkles easily, crease is crooked, fly configuration is more like a pair of jeans. I am not pleased.

Previous Smartcare pants we purchased were 97% cotton, 3% XLA and they were TRULY Smartcare, in that they came out of the dryer looking fresh and only rarely needed an ironing to refresh the look. These 100% cotton slacks come out of the dryer looking absolutely awful. I assumed "smartcare" meant that, even though they are cotton, they had been somehow treated to not wrinkle as badly. If in a hurry, I will spritz with water to hurriedly smooth them out, but otherwise, have to iron. The fit is the other reason we bought these, and that remains great. Will not purchase again due to wrinkles.

Wearing Smartcare cotton pants for 10 years- I loved them until Nordstrom changed the fabric to a brushed cotton that was no longer Smart- Wrnkles were many many more then the prior cotton Smartcare pants - .Now I order a pair or two every year or so to see if Nordstrom will ever return to the non-brushed fabric - Sorry to report that these pants (still brushed ) are still looking very wrinkled after an hour or so wearing - Wish Nordstrom would revert back to the non-brushed , really wrinkle free fabric of yesteryear - Why did they change ???!

I've been wearing the Nordstrom Smartcare pants for many years. Was very disappointed in the latest purchase. The fabric seems thinner and has much less body than previous versions. Pants appear more rumpled after very first washing than their two year old predecessors in the same wash. Nordstrom needs the courage to hold the line on quality and let the price rise.

Beautiful pants that need very little care. They wear well in hot weather. I have 6 pairs in different colors. They are always in style.
