Good size for petite frames
So glad Nordstrom is carrying this now! Love the Transport Tote, but it is a little too big and overwhelming for my 5' petite frame. I was so excited when Madewell made a bag that was a tad smaller and in a bucket shape. I own this in tan, for a few months now. Love that the handles are long enough that I can carry on my shoulder. Due to my stature, I can't carry larger bags crossbody, but I leave the long strap attached cause you never know when you might need it (plus I think it looks pretty good on). The bag holds a ton and so things can get a little lost in the bag. I keep my phone in the front pocket and my keys in the inside zip pocket. The leather is a little stiff at first, so to soften up, I massaged the leather and rolled it into a burrito many times to soften. The leather handles are not finished on one side so they start off a little scratchy. The more you use, the softer it gets, I promise. The new leather is a little prone to surface scratches (example - nails brushing against leather when grabbing my phone in front pocket, but I was able to rub the scratches out with my bare hands), but once it starts picking up oils from regular use, it won't show as easily. I also own the Madewell Transport Satchel (the triangular one with a zipper) in tan as well. FYI, many reviewers say that the other color bags rub off on clothing. Very lightweight for a leather bag and feels very sturdy. I am very happy with the quality of Madewell bags.

stained my passenger seat & clothing
Cute, versatile purse in a great size but the darn thing stained the leather passenger seat in my car and also ruined a top. Having the bag on my car seat for 20 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for 6-8 weeks was enough to trash it. The color transfer, at least in black, is unreal. This experience is enough to make me swear off all madewell bags. Thank God for the Nordstrom return policy.

The Perfect Tote
I had to buy a new tote because I could never find anything in the one I had, despite its many pockets--which pocket held the keys, which my glasses, which the lip gloss! Everyone had to wait while I searched. AAARGH. My husband and friends said the other bag had to go. I was not so sure until I found this Madewell tote. Not only was it affordable, much less than many comparable leather bags, but it is elegantly simple, roomy, much lighter than most leather bags, and it has one outside pocket for my phone and keys, and one inside pocket with a zip. If you put it down, it doesn't fall over and it's easy to see into as well. Finally, I can carry it over the shoulder, tucked comfortably under my arm OR across my body, using a second strap tucked inside, freeing my hands. I ordered it in Cabernet, a fabulous deep color that goes with everything. It was here in a few days and I love using it.

Just right
I've been wanting to buy a madewell tote for quite a while now and everytime I try it on at the store it seems too big for me. So when I saw this online a medium size the perfect size tote. I love how it has a strap that you could wear like a crossbody bag. Handy when things get too heavy. The extra pocket in front is also a plus a place to where I place my phone for easy access. Overall the wait is all worth it!

Quality Product
This Madewell bag is a quality product. I ordered it in the olive green (leather), which is nice for a change to my classic little black bag. The color is beautiful--only downfall is it does scuff easily.
The inside has one pocket with a zipper and one outside pocket without any clasp. It's almost better if you have a few smaller bags to keep things organized within. I recently went on a trip and brought this bag, which carried all my belongings and a jacket or laptop.
Would recommend if you are looking for an easy large catch-all for the summer!

I loved the color but wasn't crazy about the leather. Also the straps were too short to wear on my shoulder comfortably, so I returned it.
