Beaded Cocktail Midi Dress

This is a superb and classy dress, beautifully made in India with exquisite beading detail on a silvery chiffon style fabric. I have been dressmaking most of my life and couldn’t help being impressed by the professional finishing.. Ruched sleeves are lovely and have solid shoulder pads sewn in to keep their shape. Fully lined. My measurements match a US Size 14 and the dress is perfectly true to size. My only reservation is that the beading embellishments make it heavy (size 14 weighs 6 kg), and even though it feels quite comfortable when trying it on, it may limit my activities when wearing it - just have to stick to the slow dances ! 😉 Needs to be handled considerately because all those silver beads mean it’s a delicate garment, but it’s sure to make the wearer feel quite regal!

This dress is SO beautiful, and I really, REALLY wanted to love it...but it weighs like 1000 pounds. With all that beautiful beading, I guess that shouldn't be surprising, but unfortunately it's just not comfortable enough to keep. That said, I really can't say enough about how pretty it is. The color is a little bit more blue than it appears in the pictures (still gray, but it's a blueish shade), but I actually liked that. It's great quality too. So if you're someone who won't be bothered by the weight of the garment, you should go for it!
