Water Resistant Belted Trench Coat

I have mixed feelings about this London Fog trench coat. On the positive side, it's undeniably stylish and fits me well. The belted design is flattering, and I appreciate the hood for those drizzly days. However, there's a major issue that I can't overlook: it's not actually water resistant. This is disappointing, considering water resistance is kind of the point of a trench coat. During a recent rain, I was dismayed to find that water seeped through the fabric, leaving me damp and uncomfortable. While it's a good-looking coat, it fails at its primary function. If you're looking for a fashion piece, this might work, but if you need genuine protection from the elements, you'll want to look elsewhere. It's a shame because with true water resistance, this could have been a great coat.

I really wanted to keep this coat. It’s really well-made and I liked the water-repellent material and overall style. Unfortunately, the sleeves were way too short. For reference, I’m 5’8” and ordered a medium, which fit well everywhere except the sleeves. And they weren’t just a little short, they were well above my wrists.

I got a size small and it felt too big and if you don’t use the belt it has zero shape. I don’t think I’ll try for a size small because the arms are a little short already. The belt nicely cinches the waist but there’s sooo much material that the bottom kind of juts out like one of those 60s poodle skirts. The jacket on the model looks a lot more fitted than in person. Other than the bad fit, the material is actually really nice and I love the hoodie and rain cape. Really wanted to like this but unfortunately am going to have to return.
