Lachine Waterproof Rain Jacket

Absolutely great jacket. Have lived in the PNW all my life, and this is my new fave — and I know raincoats! Runs about a size large (not 2, imho) cuz I want room for a warm layer underneath. And very cool feature is that it packs up in its own little sack yet comes out almost wrinkle free. And yet it is not rubbery. Fantastic material. A winner.

I usually wear a 12 and purchased a medium. Luckily, the reviews were spot on. The medium is roomy enough for me to wear layers underneath, but still looks cute and oversized without looking sloppy, even without the layers. The color is a perfect rust and true to the photo. I wore this during a downpour in Ireland and stayed totally dry. The only con is there are no vents, so if it’s warm out or you run hot, you will sweat.

I’m surprised there’s no product photo of the amazingly cute little backpack this folds into! It’s super lightweight to carry around for sudden showers and you can actually throw a few other things into the jacket/backpack as well! This jacket is amazing, it keeps you DRYYYYYY even in heavy downpours, and the water basically just rolls off and it’s dry again. It’s super lightweight but extremely waterproof, does NOT wrinkle, and is somehow breathable yet keeps you warm. It weighs almost nothing which makes it great on trips. I’ve used this for Japan in the rainy season, Hawaii in tropical thunderstorms, and “rain” in Southern California, it goes with me everywhere. I’m 5’4” 128 lbs and I like things very oversized on me, particularly jackets so I can wear thick oversized hoodies underneath, and this Medium was PERFECT for that.

Unless you really want the jacket to fit loose/oversized, size down one. It’s not an expensive, but the quality is absolutely there. If you need a new fall spray raincoat that isn’t cheap plastic key feeling then this is it. It runs a large which some people may like if they lay a lot of big sweaters. I live in the south and don’t wear bulky sweaters so for me size down was perfect and still gave me room. I chose and it a very nice gray with a hint of bluish gray.
