What it is: A dry, woody scent that is crisp, green and surprising.
Fragrance story: Even though it's vital to the olfactory shock this perfume generates, patchouli is not easy to detect in this formula. The smoky, leather character of birch takes over in the first few seconds, making this signature absolutely unique and difficult to situate. Fortunately, a touch of vanilla comes in to calm this little world, bringing peace, sensuality and softness to these violent animal notes. It is a scent filled with danger for those who like to walk a tight rope.

Intensely smoky and a little sweet.
If you're searching for an intense smoke bomb fragrance, this is it. This is definitely not an in-your-face herbal, hippie patchouli. This is much more toward the smoky, peaty, boozy side of things. This has been a signature fragrance for years and always garners compliments. This is heavy on the birch tar, which may not be for everyone, the initial blast is an intense smoky rubbery scent that cools down after a while into a slightly sweet bon fire kind of smell. One of my favorites and great for cold weather, in the summer I could see this being kind of BBQ-ish but I still go for it.

not my cup of tea
when wearing this, all i could smell was barbecue. i mean, it lasted a long time, but that wasn’t to my benefit. i don’t prefer to smell like charred meat.

Fascinated by these scents
I was at the counter and being helped by a great sales man and I may be hooked on these fragrances. This one is defently a gender neutral fragrance and I wore it today (i am female) with a cozy sweater and jeans and got a lot of compliments. I smell like a "delicious man" people say, but also like a bon fire on the beach! So very interesting!

Stick with the roller bottle
LOVE this... in the roller tube. Bought the roller bottle a year ago just to try it. Just went back a month ago and got the bigger, refillable, spray bottle. It smells completely different, I suppose because it's a spray. Very dissappointed and will be contacting Nordstrom to see what they can/will do to rectify.

Surprising scent
I really like this perfume. I was expecting more of a patchouli scent, but sandalwood is the dominant scent.

warm, deep floral, mixed with a hint of birch tar
This is my go-to. It's one of those scents that really surprises you when you first smell it, because the very first whiff you get is that of tar, yes, that smoky black tree sap. Don't get scared though! It opens into this sweet, warm, deep, complex floral, and the tar fades away into just the faintest backbone. The scent opens slowly and lasts a long time. Very unique! I got the big size, 3.4 fl oz and boy does it last a looong time, even with daily use.
