Knit Holloway Peplum Wiggle Dress

Wow, what a dress - this is very much a showstopper version of a classic little black dress. I wear a small in the other dresses I have from Unique Vintage, and even find some of them a bit big on me, but considered exchanging this for a medium after trying it on for the first time because it is very, very tight-fitting. It isn’t uncomfortable to wear and I don’t struggle to zip it, however, so I think mine is how it’s supposed to fit - it’s just much tighter than I’m used to wearing so I will need to gather up my courage to wear this one out and about, honestly. Due to the tightness, be warned that you will see every underwear line, curve and bump through this, even though the fabric is a heavy, high-quality feeling knit, so appropriate undergarments are a must if you like a smoother look to your clothes. I will be wearing my light control Spanx shorts under this to smooth things out and remove the underwear lines. The tie at the neck is a little bit bulky as it’s made out of the same heavy fabric, and it took a couple of tries to get it to lay right, but once I did, this is the detail that really gives it a ‘40s flair. I feel like a total femme fatale in this dress and I suspect it will be a head-turner once I have worked up the nerve to wear this out. :)
