Molecule 01+ Iris Eau de Toilette

I am not generally a floral perfume girl, but I do love iris scents, and this is a particularly good one. It's very creamy, almost a little spicy, and quite powdery and warm which I very much like. Sillage is good and it has pretty decent staying power (especially on fabrics), though like most iris scents it does seem to dry down to a skin scent within a couple of hours. Considering a repurchase.

There’s something about finding a perfume that truly fits you — not just one that smells nice, but one that feels right. This fragrance does exactly that. From the very first spritz, it gives off a balanced blend of warmth and freshness, the kind of scent that instantly feels familiar but still turns heads. What I love most is its subtle complexity. The opening is light and inviting — a gentle burst of brightness that draws you in — but as it settles, it softens into something deeper and more comforting. Not 5 stars as it is not long lasting for me. It’s a lighter scent that fades fairly quickly. Perfect for those who prefer a subtle fragrance that doesn’t linger too long.

I’ve been wearing M Iris by Escentric Molecules for a little while now, and I have to say—it’s unlike anything else in my fragrance collection. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in. I love iris in perfumes, but I know Escentric Molecules takes a more stripped-back, experimental approach to scent. This one really caught me off guard—in a good way. First Impressions

A very simple concept, as are all the Escentric fragrances (what a great idea, sell a single ingredient for a crafted fragrance price, without paying a perfumer to create one). I have to say the original Molecule 01 (only Iso Super E) just has not enough to interest me, it smells like an ingredient rather than a fragrance. Combining it with iris makes all the difference, and this is my favourite out of all the Escentric line (I find after a brief period, a lot of the others simply smell the same). Iso Super E expands whatever it is put with, it sort of stretches out the other notes. With this, one gets a very brief hint of brightness, reminiscent of bergamot, then we are straight into the floral powdery notes typical in iris fragrances, supported by the woody effect of the iso super E. I love iris, not least because it suits my skin chemistry, but if yours does not then you just won't enjoy this. There is not much else to say, this is a pretty, extremely wearable iris that covers most facets of the ingredient, just a touch synthetic due to the high iso super E concentration, but a very pleasant fragrance all the same if you like iris. Lasts a couple of hours, then fades gently away. Not my best iris, but good enough for my partner to buy me the 100ml size.
