Organic Cotton & Hemp High Waist Tapered Ankle Pants

I first bought these too big. I thought if I ordered a smaller size, they’d be too tight in my lower leg. But no, I ordered one size down and they were still too big around my hips; then finally I got a second size down and they fit good. All three pair felt like the same size around my lower leg; only the tops were bigger! Like all brands, sizing is all over the place with EF. It is an item-to-item size guess for me. Ended up with a size 4; I’ve got EF tops in sizes XS to L. For reference I’m 5’4” & weigh 125.

Fabric is super airy and comfortable, the high waist feels secure and doesn't ride when sitting down. The back and thigh areas are roomy for "hippy" women, which can be hard to find. Waist is snug compared to the fit of the rest of the pants. They run large...ordered a size down from my recommended size and still considering exchanging for a smaller size.

Pants are tricky. No two bodies are exactly the same. All I can say is that these fit me perfectly. I’m 5’3”, curvy, and 10 lbs heavier than I was prior to the coronavirus. EF’s “vanity sizing” had me go down one size (8) from what I currently am (10 or 12). The pants are at a good, trendy length — just above my ankle. The main thing is that it important to me that pants have high enough rise to fit my true waist. These pants succeed. I believe they are discontinued and so I searched high & low for another color and found them in bone on another website. (Am I allowed to say Dillard’s?) Also the style and feel of the pants are excellent. They almost feel like linen, only with better structure. I couldn’t be happier but have no idea whether or not they will work for you?!

I love Eileen Fisher clothes for the great craftsmanship and fabrics. I have to get the classic styles that I can wear for years because I am 5ft so most of the boxy cut and long length tops don't work. I thought these pants would be great for every day and cooler for warm months. I just didn't like the cotton/hemp fabric.
