Balanced Breakfast
If you’ve ever wanted your home to smell like an early 1700’s German café, this is the candle for you (lol). The liner notes mention people breakfasting over buttery almond pastries and strong coffee while smoking pipes. The scent definitely leans gourmand and is sweet but balanced. I smell maple syrup, buttery croissant, coffee bean, cherry tobacco, a hit of cream and smoky fireplace — these all work magically together to create a sort of classy grandpa at breakfast smell (in the best way imaginable). The coffee and fireplace notes keep the other more cloying scents in check. The throw is excellent and you won’t have to burn it for long to get a house full of “we’ve just breakfasted” scent. I’ve never met another candle like it and will be repurchasing.

Heady and wintery
I was intrigued by this and it’s as another review said not for everyone - I prefer lighter fresh zestier fragrances in the home this is heavy, dark and heady. The sort of thing I’d expect in a gentleman’s club or pub - I think the scent of old coffee grains is prevalent as well as sweetness of vanilla - it’s certainly unusual and different but not for me

Stunning scent but might not be for everyone
Candles from this house can be hit or miss and this one is a big hit for me.
It’s quite strong so might not be for everyone, if you’re not into deep, resinous leather scents this is not for you. Leather, chocolate and woods. A staple for cold days. The vessel is quite narrow so it really minimizes the tunnelling but the wicks of DS Durga are again hit and miss so I always make sure to burn it in a holder to minimize drafts.

This is such a sweet, warming fragrance, with a subtle bite/something unusual to stop it being a generic gourmand. (I don't pick up the coffee in this really) Love it, but Brooklyn Lavender and Concrete After Lightning are probably my faves and have a slightly stronger throw. The DS

A delight
The scent of high quality, dark roasted coffee with just a touch of cream. The gentle smokiness that hangs in the air on cold crisp autumn mornings. This candle is as addictive and as intoxicating as a real cup of coffee. The smoked glass is also gorgeous.
