Solution Z-Fix Car Seat

Before getting this car seat we owned seven car seats by different brands. I usually do a lot of research on safety, crash tests and so on, call me an overprotective patent;) I do believe in keeping kids riding backwards as long as possible and keep them in 5-point harness mode as long as possible. So when my child turned 6 and was barely fitting in our beloved Clek that has pretty high ratings and high weight limit for 5-point harness, we had to get a new seat. After reading positive reviews I decided to give Cybex a try. Pros: slim profile, very light, easy to install, super easy to adjust as your child grows, reclines, tilting head rest . Cons: too flimsy, side impact pads kept falling off if bumped accidentally, seat has too much movement when child is in it. My child kept complaining how she felt not secure in it. The whole idea behind tilting head rest is great but my kid never sat in the seat in the position that kept her in the seat and head aligned with head pads. And there is no top tether strap so the seat moves a lot side to side, especially during car turns. After trying different reclining positions of the car seat and vehicle seat I decided to do some more homework and see which high back booster/harness seat has the high weight limit for 5-point harness, has top tether strap, latch connectors and converts to a booster seat while using top tether strap and keeps it secure in car with latch connector so it doesn't slide in your car when child is not in it. Br...x latest model of high back booster seat with 5-point harness mode up to 65 lbs was my choice and it fits in my car super secure and solid, no movement and my kid says it's comfortable. As usual Nordstrom customer service is super and initiating return was a breeze.

Exactly what I was looking for. My daughter really likes her car seat. She says it’s comfortable and doesn’t hurt to sit on it for long trips. I really like that her head doesn’t fall forward after she’s fallen asleep unlike in her convertible car seat before this. Installation was very easy. Making adjustments to the back rest was easy as well.

I picked this car seat after careful reviews and was excited that my 36 lb 4 year old could move into it. Sadly, the description on the site says it’s suited for a child starting at 33Lbs but the actual seat says 40. It’s worth it to mention that the bottom seat cushion feels super hard and not comfortable and just has an overall very cheap feel to it. Even if it would have worked for the weight it would still be going back because it feels poorly made.
