What it is: A versatile creamy eye shadow adds color and glimmer to your look and works as a base, too.
What it does: One of Clinique’s classic products, Touch Base For Eyes™ is a versatile, creamy eye shadow that adds a wash of pigment and glimmer. Works as an eye shadow primer base, too. Wear this eye shadow cream alone to add a little color and glimmer to eyelids or layer it under other eye shadows as a base. It resists fading, creasing and smudging. The creamy formula is available in three nude-toned shades: canvas, nude rose and canvas light.
How to use: Use your ring finger to apply color from lashline to brow; blend gently. Can be worn alone or under other eye shadows. Close the compact completely to prevent the product from drying out. Remove with your favorite Clinique eye makeup remover (sold separately).

As a former model I can say this is the best eye make-up I have ever used. Stays on all day. I use it alone for just a shimmer. Or when I layer shadow over it , the look is there until I wash it off. Beautiful! And there are no sunscreens or other chemicals that can irritate my eyes. My favorite eye make-up!

base for eyes
I am 73 and have been searching for a cover for my eyelids that doesn't make me look like I'm trying too hard. This base would have been just what I have been looking for, but it had a shimmer (or sparkles) in it, which completely ruined its use for me. The description of this product appeared to be a flat base coverup, so it was very disappointing. This is hard to review, because without the sparkles it is very nice.

Keeps shadow in place all day
I've used Touch Base in Canvas and Nude Rose off and on for years. It's very effective in keeping a light dusting of shadow on the lid and in the crease all day without settling into the wrinkles. I keep trying other base products but always return to Clinique Touch Base. My only complaint is that one must pay attention to keeping it covered and tightly closed to prevent it drying out quickly. And I do wish cosmetic manufacturers would put creamy products that are meant to be applied with a finger tip in a bowl-shaped palette rather than one with right-angled sides where a certain amount of product cannot be reached. Sigh.

Great Eye Base
I've been using touch base for eyes longer than any other makeup or skin care product. It really helps eye shadow last all day and is also nice on its own when you want a more natural look. I have a fair complexion with blonde hair and canvas is perfect with my skin.

Canvas Light
I've been using Mac's Bare Study paint pot as my lid base for some time. But I noticed that powder eye shadows applied on top just didn't last all day, so I decided to give Touch Base for Eyes a try. Due to my fair skin, I opted for Canvas Light. It's a lovely pale porcelain (without any shimmer), very similar to the Bare Study in color, but not quite as dark or with any pink undertones. My skin is very sensitive, but I've had no reaction to the Touch Base. My powder eye shadows now last ALL DAY LONG - amazing! I definitely plan to purchase the "petal" color next!

Dries out and becomes useless
Really liked this product until it dried out. Within 2 weeks it was crumbly and hard to spread. Leaving the foil on helps a little but ultimately, I wouldn't buy this again.
