Chiffon Prom Dress with Sheer Floral Lace Bodice

The Pros: The dress itself is beautiful. The bodice is super sparkly and beaded, and the chiffon bottom drapes beautifully. The Cons: Inconsistent sizing and poorly made. The first dress we ordered had a hole in it in the chiffon of the skirt near the slit (see picture). Because it was purchased on Nordstrom’s website, but via third party La Femme, the fastest way to get a replacement was to place a new whole new order. The second dress arrived with random stitches below the bodice (see picture), one side of the bodice was bigger than the other, one strap was longer than the other, and it appeared to have been worn before. We are crossing our fingers the third dress works because customer service was absolutely zero help. They couldn’t expedite shipping, couldn’t offer a discount, couldn’t do anything except offer a return slip because it was a third party seller — so essentially customer service was useless. Nordstrom apparently doesn’t stand by the products they choose to sell on their site. It has been more than a minor inconvenience at this point. The third dress will helpfully arrive undamaged because all we could do in order to (just barely) get a dress in time for prom was to place a THIRD order. Fit wise — We will need to alter it by at LEAST 12-15” on the bottom and shorten the straps to fit someone 5’1” with 1.5 inch heels who wears a size two. The first dress had a perfect fit on the bodice. The second dress bodice was too big. Will need to be steamed as it arrived pretty wrinkly, especially the second dress. Bottom line: I wish we’d never ordered this dress. If you do (it would be beautiful minus the damage). If you take a chance, make sure you’ve got a month or two to keep ordering replacements due to damage and inconsistent sizing.
