Great Work Dress
I attended a work event with a mix of casual and business casual attire, so I went on a quest for an outfit that would be classy yet understated. I wanted to look current but not too young, and the above-the-knee dresses I tried felt too girlish. Finally, I found this dress at my local store! Compared to the size chart for a Small, the chest and shoulders fit like an XS, and the low waist and hips are a true Small. Depending on your preferences and size, you might want shapewear to avoid visible panty lines in the back. Since I am 5'3", I also hemmed about 2-3 inches of length so it would hit just below the knee as pictured instead of mid-calf. The fabric was forgiving and easy to sew on my own. The stretchy material made me comfortable during a long day, and I wasn't too hot or cold. It's hard to see the gold buttons online, but they're a beautiful detail in person. Overall, I am very happy with this lovely dress and Nordstrom's fast customer service!
