Slim Fit Solid Wool Suit Jacket

The suit jacket is of good quality. However, Nordstrom's customer care needs improvement. I ordered this jacket online, but it arrived crumpled in a ball. A high-end retailer like Nordstrom should better care when shipping a quality suit jacket. It should have arrived on a wooden hanger in a garment bag or at least in a dust-proof plastic bag. It is a gift for my husband, and unfortunately, I now have to send the jacket out to have it steamed before I can give it to him.

Ordered this jacket for my husband who is 6'2, 198lbs and a very standard 42L fit. The jacket is tailored well and the fabric is a great year-round weight; however, it is a SLIM fit. I specifically chose regular fit in the Nordstrom FIT search because he needed more classic tailoring. When he tried it on, the shoulders, chest , arms and length fit beautifully but it was clearly a slim fit when he buttoned it. The tag inside reads "ITALIAN FABRIC, STRETCH TAILORING, SLIM FIT" but the site is not allowing photo uploads so I couldn't post a photo. This jacket will fit a 6'2" 180lb althletic built person beautifully.

Buying a suit here has a cheaper feel than the old days. Had to order my size, and then to get measured/tailored went back and picked up the suit at the customer pickup area (rather than the men’s dept). Pants were in a sealed dirty plastic mailing envelope like you’d get from amazon, and suit coat was tossed on top of that, all of it bunched up in the bottom of a big shopping bag. After taking that to the men’s dept to get measured, picked up the finished suit a few days later - again at the general pickup area. This time on plastic hangers in a knotted, clear dry cleaning bag. Was it that much cost/trouble to do everything in the men’s dept, and to put a new suit on a wooden hanger in a nordstrom zip-up bag? And why do I have to shuttle my $1000 suit from the mail-order pickup counter down to where the tailor is?
