Mayne Bootie (Women)

I'm happy with these boots. I've been wanting a mid calf boot for a while now, and ordered these in brown. They're a rich color with a bit darker toe. The comfort is good and my foot didn't slip in them. People who have a high instep may find them a bit harder to get on. For me, TTS. Should work for most ankles and calves unless they're super narrow, but I didn't find them too tight or have too much gap at the ankle.

I'm so sad to have to return these. I have this same boot from Born from about 8 years ago. This fit is totally different. Very stiff leather and narrow in the heel area, so narrow it was difficult for me to get my foot in even with the zipper all the way down. There's a pleated area above the top buckle that opens when bending my foot, and I don't like the look of it open. But some may actually like that look. I am a true 8 and these were too small. Perhaps an 8.5 would've worked. The brown color is really nice though, and they seem well made, just didn't work for me. The previous version of this shoe is my favorite fit of any shoe I've ever owned, still wearing them.

I purchased these and three other brands of similar items online, since I live very far away from any Nordstrom store. These boots are extremely well made, super soft inside, and the leather is wonderful. This is the only pair of boots I am keeping and will wear for the next decade. The style is fabulous too. Born, you are keeping your manufacturing spirit in the style to which we are accustomed. THANK YOU.
